The regular meeting of the Raytown Scottish Rite Club was opened in abbreviated form by our president Ron Hewitt, KCCH at 7:05 pm on April 14, 2008 in the old Sultan’s Lounge of Ararat Shrine Temple. There were 9 members, ladies and guests present. Due to the low turnout the formalities of the meeting was suspended by the president.

Guest Speaker: No guest speaker was present but brother Hewitt spoke on the new Master Craftsmen Education program that was introduced by the Supreme Council and is available through the Valley Store for the price of $35.00. The fee gets a member the 6 part course on Scottish Rite Masonic Education as well as a copy of the new Scottish Rite Monitor and Ritual Guide.

All Candidates at the spring reunion received the Master Craftsmen program at no charge from Ill. Brother Bob Cockerham, 33°, S.G.I.G. for the Orient of Missouri.

Sickness: Betty McCain was reported in serious condition. Our thoughts and prayers are with both Bill and Betty. (note: Betty passed away April 15th)

Minutes: The minutes were presented via email and regular mail in advance of the meeting and were approved as submitted.

Treasurers Report:No Treasurer’s report was available.

Old Business: There was no old business.

New Business: No new business to report

Special Guest: There were no Special guests

Remarks: A reminder was given about the up coming spring cleanup at the Temple on April 26th and the cook off competition in the afternoon. No formal agreement was made to participate as a club but several members indicated they would be present.

The meeting was closed in regular form at 7:45 pm.

Dues for 2008 are now payable. You can mail them directly to the Secretary/Treasurer; OR BETTER turn them in when you attend the next meeting! If you are not sure of your dues status, check with Bill.

PLEASE call Brother Vern Whitson with the number in your party for our next meeting at 913/381-3035 or you can email him at jeanvern9596 @aol.com. Vern will need this information by Friday before the meeting on Monday [so that The Shrine can plan their space and personnel accordingly]!
