The
Scottish Rite is not a philanthropic organization by its
nature but does involve itself in a number of philanthropic
endeavors. Among these are the Kansas City Scottish Rite
Foundation which is a nonprofit organization dedicated
to the preservation of the Kansas City Scottish Rite Temple,
The Almoners Fund which uses its money to assist area
citizens in need, and the Kansas City Rite Care Clinic
for Childhood Language Disorders. The Clinic is operated
and staffed by Children's Mercy Hospital and relies on
funding from donations generated by the Scottish Rite
of Kansas City, its members and friends in the community.
